The Birth Of UnReality

The very first UnReality tournament took place on the 5th and 6th March 2005 at the Aber RFC Clubhouse. After two days of combat, roleplay, games and entertainment, the event had raised over £500 for donation to the Indian Basin Tsunami relief effort.

11 Months later, the universe shook once again and drew all combatants back to the RFC Clubhouse for the second tournament.
This time, £500 was raised for the two chosen charities, Nightline and AICR

Almost a year had quietly passed when a new maelstrom formed between worlds, converging around Brynamlwg. Unreality 2007 began, and ended two days later with £1171 rised by the brave warriors and the cunning fighters for Breast Cancer Campaign

As words collided and the warriors whom converged on Brynamlwg fell for the 4th time, £2000 (yes, that is two thousand) was collected from the fallen and the frail, and distributed between The MS Society and Wales Air Ambulance

At the fifth colliding of the realities, with the warriors blood still drying on the battle field, the accounting goblins have reached a final total of £2658 for Shelter Cymru.

Testimonials

"I have to say I was absolutely blown away by the generosity and enthusiasm of our LRPers last year! It was great fun - awesome fights, awesome cake. Let's see if we can top the 2008 total!" - Hazel Hatch

"I went a little bit loopy with my money at last year's Larpaid, as many did, which is testament to the fantastic event that was put on for us. There were excellent and highly entertaining fights, an auction with some really high quality items on offer, many stalls and tasty and cheap food on offer and great company." - Chris Dean

"LARP Aid was wonderful last year, and hopefully more people will come if we run it again!" - Chris (last name supplied)

"It's a fantastic idea, get LARPers from around the country together and raise money for charity, all good ideas." - Richard Munn

"UnReality 2005 went really well - it was a great weekend for everyone. I'd definitely do it again!" - Emily Bradshaw

"I have to say that Larp Aid was a fantastic Idea. Like most people I love the IDEA of raising money for Charity, but never actually get round to it. LARP Aid was great, an excuse to LARP, eat and hang out with fellow LARPers, and raise money for a good cause. I'm already signed up for the next one!" - Phil Bettinson

"A good time was had by all at LARP Aid 2005 - I'd definately go to another if it was run, and recommend it to others." - Sara Kay

"The cake stall was excellent! Seriously...good fun, a really enjoyable weekend." - Gemma Lawes
